Mark Henick In 2004, when he was in the twelfth grade, Mark Henick wanted to speak to his high school peers about mental illness. When he was denied the permission to do so he wrote a letter to his local newspaper about the reluctance to talk about mental illness in schools, and in society more broadly. The letter gathered significant attention, including the largest television newscast in Atlantic Canada, and a mental health advocate was born.
